It is every automotive enthusiast’s dream – four days of pure heaven. The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show is best described as an automotive fanatic’s mecca. Thousands of vendors showcased some of the coolest and craziest cars and products.
ODYSSEY® battery by EnerSys joined many top vendors on display. Our main focus this year: showcasing our Performance Series™ and Extreme Series™ batteries.
Need to know the difference between the two? Our Extreme Series™ battery is designed for hardcore off-road enthusiasts who endure the harshest conditions imaginable. The Performance Series™ battery best suits those who depend on their car to start every time in any weather condition – with more power and a longer service life than other leading brands. In other words, quality and performance are both key for ODYSSEY® battery.
The power at SEMA didn’t stop with our products, though. From “The King” to “The General” – our lineup of celebrity appearances throughout the show brought tons of fans. ODYSSEY® battery athletes Tanner Foust, Rutledge Wood, Richard Petty, Joey Logano and Brian Deegan signed autographs and posed for photos and really got a chance to connect with the fans while they were at the show.
A couple of automotive experts were featured at the ODYSSEY® battery booth during SEMA week, too.
Nicholas Ashby, retired National Guardsman and current Rockstar Performance Garage owner, customized a 2013 Jeep® Wrangler JK. The Bad Penny features a Performance Series battery which not only gets her started, but the ODYSSEY® battery also supports the new taillights, LED bar, power winch and audio system. Wrapped in the ODYSSEY® battery logo, it’s hard to miss any detail on this SEMA build right down to headlights that give Bad Penny her distinctive “eyes.”
Tanner Foust’s 2015 VW Passat was a crowd favorite. The drift vehicle features the ODYSSEY® battery PC925 gave spectators an up close and personal look at the car driven by one of the best in rally cross.
It was Horny Mike’s custom Big Wheel Drift Trike that turned heads. Horns galore made this bright green, three-wheeled creation a must-see.
The power of ODYSSEY® batteries extended well beyond our booth. Well over 100 vehicles throughout the 3.2 million square foot convention center housed ODYSSEY® batteries.
From a gorgeously restored and custom 1949 Buick Sedanette barn find to the ODYSSEY® Battery Bigfoot #20 Monster Truck – the world’s only battery-powered monster truck – so many vehicles showcased the true variety of what ODYSSEY® batteries can power.
From hanging out at the booth with Petty to cheering on ODYSSEY® battery athletes Tanner Foust and Brian Deegan at the Red Bull Global Rally Cross, it is hard to one defining moment at SEMA. Maybe it was the hot commodity ODYSSEY® battery bags that never stayed on the rack for more than an hour, or maybe it was finding ODYSSEY®batteries at the heart of countless vehicles throughout the Las Vegas Convention Center. Regardless, SEMA 2015 was another wild ride!
