READING, Pennsylvania, August 11, 2020 – EnerSys® (NYSE:ENS), the global leader in stored energy solutions for industrial applications and the manufacturer of ODYSSEY® batteries, was recently appointed as an approved supplier partner by Automotive Parts Associates, Inc. (APA). As one of the oldest program distribution groups in operation as a member-owned, not-for-profit cooperative with more than 45 years of service, APA has approximately 50 independent Warehouse Distributor shareholders in North America with over 475 independent auto parts distributor locations throughout North America. As an approved supplier partner, EnerSys will now be able to offer its premium ODYSSEY® batteries to APA’s warehouse distributor members.
Manufactured with proprietary Thin Plate Pure Lead (TPPL) technology, the ODYSSEY® battery portfolio provides premium and long-lasting power for a diverse range of vehicle applications. Their rugged Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) construction and non-spillable dry cell design protect against high impact shock and mechanical vibration, two common causes of battery failure. Additionally, ODYSSEY® batteries provide deep cycle reserve power and maximum cranking power, with engine cranking pulses up to 2,700 amps for 5 seconds, which is double that of equally sized conventional flooded lead acid batteries.
“ODYSSEY® batteries provide superior power and excellent service life for a wide variety of automotive applications,” said Tom Rafferty, National Account Manager at EnerSys. “As industry demand grows for premium AGM battery solutions, we are excited to partner with the APA family to expand access to our line of next-generation ODYSSEY® batteries.”
ODYSSEY® batteries feature a three- to 10-year service life and a two-year storage life at 77°F (25°C). They are vibration and shock resistant, classified as “non-spillable” by the U.S. Department of Transportation and include a limited three-year full replacement warranty.
