READING, Pa., (May 2016) – EnerSys® (NYSE:ENS), the global leader in stored energy solutions for industrial applications and the manufacturer of ODYSSEY® batteries, will return as an official sponsor of action sports legend Brian Deegan for the fourth consecutive year.
Brian Deegan is the most decorated Freestyle Motocross rider with 15 X-Games medals. He is the only rider to have competed in every X-Games competition since its inception in 1999. Deegan is also a six-time Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Champion and a four-time medalist in Global Rally Cross at the X Games including a gold medal win in 2011.
As an official sponsor, EnerSys will support Deegan’s #38 Pro 2 truck in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS). Deegan also will use an ODYSSEY® battery in the Ford Fiesta ST he will drive in the 2016 Red Bull Global Rallycross series with Ganassi Racing.
ODYSSEY® batteries are designed with an Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) construction and Thin Plate Pure Lead (TPPL) technology for more engine-cranking power and reserve power than conventional batteries.
ODYSSEY® batteries feature a three- to 10-year service life and two-year storage life at 77 degrees Fahrenheit (25 degrees Celsius). They are vibration resistant, classified as “non-spillable” by the U.S. Department of Transportation and include a limited two- to four-year full replacement warranty.
The ODYSSEY® battery logo will be prominently displayed on the race trucks, driver’s suits and the LOORRS team semi-truck and hauler.

Brian Deegan’s LOORRS #38 NOS Energy/Mickey Thompson/Ford race truck debuted with ODYSSEY® battery by EnerSys as its official sponsor at Wildhorse Pass Raceway In Phoenix on March 20-21, 2015 where Deegan took home a pair of podium finishes. The Global Rally Cross season started May 21 – 22 at Wildhorse Pass in Phoenix, AZ and continues on June 4 in Dallas, Texas.
